Quick Overview
Look, we get it - nobody actually enjoys reading privacy policies. But here's what matters: we collect what we need to provide our architectural services, we don't sell your data to anyone, and you can always reach out to ask what we've got on file about you.
If you've got questions or concerns after reading this, just give us a call at (604) 555-2847 and we'll sort it out.
When you reach out to us or work with us on a project, we'll typically collect:
- Basic contact stuff: Your name, email, phone number, mailing address - you know, the usual way to keep in touch
- Project details: Property info, site specs, design preferences, budget ranges (we need this to actually help you)
- Business information: If you're a commercial client, we'll need company details, tax info for invoicing, that sort of thing
- Communication records: Emails, meeting notes, phone call summaries - it helps us stay on the same page throughout your project
- Technical data: When you visit our website, we collect standard web stuff like IP addresses, browser types, and how you navigate around
We don't dig for info we don't need. If it's not relevant to designing your space or running our business, we're not interested.
Here's the deal with what we do with your info:
Project Work
Creating designs, getting permits, coordinating with contractors, keeping you updated on progress - basically doing the job you hired us for
Communication
Responding to inquiries, scheduling consultations, sending project updates, and yeah, occasionally sharing news about our studio
Legal & Compliance
Meeting building codes, zoning requirements, maintaining professional records as required by our licensing board
Improving Our Services
Figuring out what works well and what doesn't, making our website better, refining our processes
We don't: Sell your data, rent it out, or trade it. We're architects, not data brokers.
We keep things pretty tight, but there are some situations where we need to share your info:
- Project partners: Engineers, contractors, suppliers - the folks who need certain details to help bring your design to life
- Government agencies: Building departments, planning authorities - it's part of getting your project approved and permitted
- Service providers: Our cloud storage, email service, accounting software - they help us run the business but they're bound by strict confidentiality agreements
- Legal requirements: If we're legally required to disclose something (like a court order), we have to comply - but we'll let you know unless we're prohibited from doing so
- Business transitions: If we ever merge with another firm or sell the practice, your info would transfer as part of the client files (we'd give you a heads-up)
Everyone we work with is vetted and contractually obligated to protect your privacy just like we do.
Our website uses cookies - those little data files that help sites remember you. Here's what we're tracking and why:
Essential Cookies
These keep the site working properly - things like remembering your language preference or keeping you logged into our client portal. Can't really turn these off without breaking stuff.
Analytics Cookies
We use Google Analytics to see which pages people visit, how long they stick around, what devices they're using. It's all anonymous and helps us improve the site. You can opt out if you want.
Marketing Cookies
Sometimes we'll use these to show relevant content or remember if you've already filled out a contact form. Nothing creepy, just trying to make your experience smoother.
Most browsers let you control cookies in the settings. Just know that blocking them might make some features wonky.
Security's a big deal for us. Here's what we do to keep your information safe:
- Encryption: All data transmitted through our website is encrypted with SSL/TLS protocols - that's the little padlock you see in your browser
- Secure storage: Client files are stored on encrypted servers with restricted access and regular backups
- Access controls: Only team members who actually need certain info can access it - not everyone here can see everything
- Regular updates: We keep our systems patched and up-to-date to protect against known vulnerabilities
- Physical security: Our office at 1450 West Georgia Street has controlled access, and we don't leave sensitive documents lying around
That said, no system is 100% bulletproof. We do our best, but if there's ever a breach, we'll let you know right away and work to fix it.
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), you've got several rights when it comes to your personal information:
Your Right | What It Means |
---|---|
Access | You can request a copy of what personal info we have about you |
Correction | If something's wrong or outdated, let us know and we'll fix it |
Deletion | Ask us to delete your data (though we might need to keep some stuff for legal reasons) |
Opt-out | Don't want marketing emails? Just unsubscribe or tell us to stop |
Portability | Get your data in a format you can take to another firm if you want |
To exercise any of these rights, just email us at design@blazorianthquinth.info or call (604) 555-2847. We'll get back to you within 30 days.
We don't hang onto your info forever, but we can't just delete everything right after a project wraps up either. Here's our retention approach:
- Active projects: We keep all relevant data for the duration of your project and any warranty period
- Completed projects: Architectural records need to be kept for at least 7 years after project completion - it's a professional requirement and helps if there's ever questions about the work
- Marketing contacts: If you've signed up for our newsletter but never became a client, we'll keep your contact info until you unsubscribe or after 3 years of inactivity
- Inquiry records: Basic contact info from inquiries that didn't turn into projects - we typically purge these after 2 years
- Legal documents: Contracts, permits, and related paperwork are kept according to legal requirements, usually 7-10 years
Once the retention period's up, we securely delete or anonymize the data so it can't be traced back to you.
Our website might link to other sites - supplier catalogs, building product manufacturers, project partners, that kind of thing. Once you click through to another site, this privacy policy doesn't apply anymore.
We try to only link to reputable companies, but we can't control what they do with your information. It's worth checking their privacy policies if you're sharing any personal info with them.
Same goes for social media - if you interact with us on Instagram, LinkedIn, or Facebook, those platforms have their own privacy policies that govern how your data's handled.
Our services aren't directed at kids under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from minors without parental consent.
If you're a parent and think your child has somehow provided us with personal information, please reach out and we'll delete it promptly.
We're based in Vancouver, BC, and most of our work happens within Canada. However, some of the cloud services we use (like email hosting or file storage) might have servers in other countries, including the United States.
When your data's stored on servers outside Canada, it's subject to the laws of that country. We only work with service providers who maintain strong security standards and comply with international data protection regulations.
If you've got concerns about where your data's being stored, we're happy to discuss the specifics.
Privacy laws evolve, our business practices change, and sometimes we just realize there's a better way to explain something. When we update this policy, we'll post the new version here with a revised date at the top.
For minor tweaks and clarifications, we'll just update the page. If there's a major change that affects how we handle your data, we'll send an email to let current clients know.
It's probably worth checking back here once in a while, especially if you're a long-term client.
